Siggy goes commercial

Free for five envelopes a month, paid plans from ten dollars, identity checks and SMS as add-ons. Siggy is now a product with customers, and a marketing program to match.

Four months ago we wrote about Siggy as a proof of concept that refused to stay one. This week it has a pricing page, a free tier, paying customers across three industries and, for the first time, a marketing program that is not just the Director sending emails.

The pricing we settled on

  • Free for five envelopes a month, with no time limit. A sole practitioner who signs a handful of documents should never have to pay for a signing tool.
  • Paid plans from ten dollars a month, with twenty percent off annually, for practices that send more.
  • Pay-as-you-go add-ons for the things that cost us money per use: identity checks against government documents, and SMS delivery for signers who live on their phones.

The pricing follows the same principle as the product. It is priced for how Australian practices actually work, not for enterprise procurement. Nobody needs to talk to a salesperson.

Who is using it

The early customers are the people we built it for: accounting practices sending engagement letters and declarations. They have been joined by mortgage and finance brokers, for whom signed authorities are the rhythm of every day, and by NDIS providers, who need service agreements signed by participants and their representatives without the friction of accounts and passwords.

Each group found Siggy for a slightly different reason, and each is teaching us something. Brokers care most about speed on a phone. NDIS providers care most about the audit trail. Accountants care most about the completion certificate standing up to scrutiny. The product is better for all three because of the other two.

What has not changed

The principles that made Siggy work as a proof of concept are intact as a product. Explicit alignment with the Electronic Transactions Act 1999. No account required to sign. An append-only audit log. A tamper-evident seal and a certificate that documents the method on every envelope. Built in Canberra, hosted in Sydney, supported by the people who wrote it.

We did not set out to run a software business alongside a consultancy. But a product that found its own market is the best proof we could offer of what Axiom Data stands for, and we intend to look after it.
